The Active Transportation Alliance is asking Chicagoland residents to contact elected officials to ask them to support the $32 billion in emergency funding for transit.
Car traffic is on its way back to pre-pandemic levels, but transit ridership is still way down, and without further intervention, the agencies have to resort to drastic service cuts.
"This is just a caravan, it’s not going to change the world, but we hope we can at least begin to change this consciousness and to understand that we need to be working together."
