Hopefully the new infrastructure will result in higher rates of motorists yielding to pedestrians, as CDOT says was the case on State, and fewer crashes.
Redesigning intersections to make it harder for drivers to whip around corners, requiring skills testing for older motorists, and stiffer penalties for drivers who kill would help prevent such tragedies.
