If Catapla is narrowed but still open to drivers, people using the remaining pedestrian space would still have to deal with the danger, sight, sound, and fumes of cars.
Now that Beale's ordinance has been defeated, there's more work to be done to make Chicago's speed camera program, and traffic safety strategies in general, more equitable and effective.
