Ride Lake County, a county-wide dial dial-a-ride bus service for seniors and people with disabilities, got off to a modest start after it debuted in May.
Service gaps were understandable during the depths of the pandemic, but that's no longer an acceptable excuse, so it's good to see alders lighting a fire under the agency to address the problem.
Perversely, CDOT's and Lyft's community outreach plan was to explain to the public how the new pricing system works after members were already being charged the new e-bike fees.
"The city can and should build safe infrastructure to prevent further loss of our friends, family, and loved ones," say protest organizers. "A better future is possible."
The Chicago Department of Transportation provided some more information about its previously announced 5,000-bike giveaway. CDOT also released its schedule of summer Learn to Ride classes.
