In another sign that Chicagoland transit is slowly coming back from dramatic ridership losses during the pandemic, Metra announced this week that it is adding express trains to its Rock Island and BNSF lines.
“The more accessible and easier transit is, the better it is for the economy... everybody has the right to convenient public transportation, not just the lucky few.”
Thankfully, the Active Transportation just launched a campaign to spur the city to get moving on building more bus lanes, as well as to provide face masks for all transit riders.
Metra launched a Ridership Dashboard to give riders a heads-up about crowding issues, so that they can make an informed decision when planning their commutes.
